There is a flock among you! Four characteristics of a leader

The Holy Spirit is always available to teach us . The scripture of the day is inspired by none other than the Holy Spirit. As I began my Influenced to pray Facebook group aka my ITP community. I believe God wanted me to know this.

It sat so well with my spirit.

In my prayer time , I couldn’t help but think and hear .

“There is a flock among you,” so I immediately went to the holy bible app to find scripture. I was led to 1 Peter 5:2.

TIP! Go to the Bible first, as we should always test the spirit!

1 Peter 5:2 The shepherds of God's flock that is under your care, watching over them - not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not pursuing this dishonest game, but eager to serve.

In my NLT study bible it states that Peter describes several characteristics of good leaders in the church. 1.) They realize they are caring for God’s flock, not their own 2.) They lead out of eagerness to serve , not out of obligation 3.) They are concerned by what they can give, not for what they can get. 4.) They lead by example, not force.

*All of us lead others in some way. Whatever our role, our leadership should be in line with these characteristics.*

In conclusion, I am really serious about what I do for the Lord and let’s not forget to be careful! I realized at that moment that I had God’s flock among me and there was a message he wanted to convey. This scripture will definitely check your motives and character. As I mentioned before it sat well with my spirit. Why? ...that is because it was confirmation I was right on track. Out of those four characteristics I can honestly say I was able to check all four boxes. I want to reassure you that you’re in a safe place with Influenced to Pray community, in connection with me , and plenty of other services I may provide to you. It is my duty to care for you, and that means a lot to me! I would like to ask you a question or two. Can you be honest with yourself and God? Can you check all four boxes about your characteristics in leadership? Or maybe you can check a few. Meanwhile, some of you may not feel like a leader, but we lead everyday in some way as stated before. I'm so glad to be able to share the good news with you and discover my new sis -in -Christ!

Heavenly Father, thank you for the reminder in your word! That we should care for the people you entrusted to us. Continue to aid us in serving you. Let us have the right attitude when taking care of your flock. We want to imitate the Great Shepard! Less of me and more of you, Jesus! Show me how to lead and place your characteristics down on the inside of me. In Jesus name, Amen!
