Commitment - How to be intentional and purposeful in all your endeavors

Psalms 37:5-NLT

Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust him, and he will help you.

In my subconscious mind I heard the word committed as I tossed and turned through the night. I woke up with this on my mind. I have quite a few things I invest my time in and consistency matters. However, we may put things on the back burner unintentionally. Our focus may be on multiple tasks at once, but which task is your main priority in this season and time ? Well you might say to yourself, how do I know which task is most important? Ask yourself, what have you neglected? Is this an assignment from God? Does this project serve the masses? And do you feel an urgency, burden, unction, or soft spot for this task? God will sometimes let you know deep down on the inside that this task or assignment needs immediate attention.

These are some ways to identify which task is important after you have sought the Lord in prayer. You are now being purposeful by showing determination to resolve a certain matter at hand. You can remain purposeful in all your endeavors you partake in by simply applying prayer and self reflection time. I like to play worship music and sip tea as a relaxation method to help set the tone to collect my thoughts before the Lord and let my request be made known. This is a sure way to usher in his presence. Give your time to Elohim (the living God) so you can know him better. Commit every area of your life to Him. Trust him to take care of you, better than you can take care of yourself. He’ll give you guidance on what needs TLC (tender loving care) in this season. Most importantly , what you need to commit to.

Proverbs 16:3-NLT

Commit your actions to the Lord, and your plans will succeed.

We should be conscious at this point on how to commit our endeavors to the Lord by the directions above, but there are ways to fail as well. We all may have fallen short of showing commitment in different previous endeavors, but we don’t have to continue to fall short in this manner. Let us not be superficial about our commitments.

(NLT bible study stated)

  • We are being superficial when we say a project is being done for the Lord, but in reality we are doing it for ourselves.

  • We are being superficial when we give God temporary control of our interests, but take control back the moment things stop going the way we expect.

  • We are being superficial by committing a task fully to the Lord, but put forth no efforts for ourselves, and then wonder why it’s not successful.

The key is maintaining a delicate BALANCE!

Trust God and be intentional by depending on Him,

while working as everything depended on us!

Prayer for You

He is so reliable, may you glean in on Him in this season. I pray you will follow the Holy Spirit's leading for your assignments and endeavors. I pray you will know the difference in your assignment and your work. I pray the Lord instructs you to do his will and prioritize His plans for your life and for His Kingdom. I pray that you hear by the spirit of the Lord for yourself. I pray you may know his voice. We are entitled to listen and hear his voice. I pray the life giving words of Jesus ``My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me”. I decree and declare in this season you will listen to the voice of God and follow him in Jesus name, Amen!

If you’re not a believer and you're touched by this post today, connect with me!

Let us agree in prayer for your salvation. If you’re ready to accept Jesus as your savior, it is in Romans 10:9. If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

Salvation Prayer

Heavenly Father, I come to you in prayer asking for the forgiveness of my sins. I confess with my mouth and believe in my heart thats Jesus is your son, and that he died on the cross at calvary that I might be forgiven and have eternal life in the the kingdom of heaven. Father, I believe that Jesus rose from the dead and I ask you right now to come into my life and be my personal Lord and Savior. I repent of my sins and will worship you all the days of my life. Because your word is truth, I confess with my mouth that I am born again and cleansed by the blood of Jesus.

In Jesus name, Amen.
